Administrative history

The Waterways Commission was established under the Waterways Commission Act 1976. The Act also created three management authorities, the Swan River Management Authority, the Peel Inlet Management Authority and the Leschenault Management Authority. A fourth, the Albany Waterways Management Authority, was created in August 1990.
