In 1970, the charter of the Kewdale Development Authority was expanded and the Industrial Lands Development Authority was formed. The Authority provided serviced land across the State for purchase to meet the needs of industry (manufacturing and service trade industries).
On 17 May 1971, the Director of the Department of Industrial Development was appointed the Chairman of the Authority.
The Industrial Lands Development Authority continued to operate until 1992 when it was merged with the Joondalup Development Corporation and the residential development operations of the Western Australian Development Corporation to form LandCorp.
