Administrative history

The State Planning Commission was created to provide policy input on planning matters to the Minister, namely:

  • to prepare a planning strategy for the State and to provide advice on land use planning and development.

With the creation of the Department of Planning and Urban Development in September 1989, all staff of the Commission were transferred to the new department.
