Scope and content

This is an artificial series containing ratebooks transferred by the City of Stirling.

Most of the ratebooks pertain to the Perth Road Board (which became the Shire of Perth in 1961, then the City of Stirling in 1970).

Ratebooks from the Maylands Local Board of Health and the Osborne Park Local Board of Health are also included in this series. The Perth Road Board gained custody of these ratebooks when it took over the functions of both of the Maylands Local Board of Health and the Osborne Park Local Board of Health in 1931.

One ratebook from the Land Drainage Board (Njookenbooroo Ward) is also included.

NB: In 1923, the Maylands Ward of the Perth Road Board changed its name to Inglewood. In 1936, the Inglewood Ward was re-divided into the Maylands Ward and Inglewood Ward.
