Administrative history
A police station was established in Esperance following the murder of John Moir in 1878. On 13 March 1879, Police Constable Truslove and Lance Corporal Coppin took charge of the law in a district which extended from Bremer Bay to Eucla. A new police station building opened in November 1967.
