History

On 6 February 1905, the Honourables Charles Harper M.L.A. (Chairman), Cornthwaite Hector Rason M.L.A., John Scaddan M.L.A., Alfred John Henry Watts M.L.A., and Thomas Charles Villiers were appointed Royal Commissioners to inquire into and report on the best means of encouraging immigration to Western Australia, with a view to increasing land settlement in the State. On 3 April 1905, Rason resigned his seat on the Commission and his place was not filled.

The report of the Royal Commission was submitted on 18 July 1905.

A copy of the report is included in the Tabled Papers of the Legislative Council - Series 4410, Consignment 1067, Item 1905/069[2].
