History

On 6 September 1938, Henry Doyle Moseley (Stipendiary Magistrate) was appointed Royal Commissioner to inquire into and report upon the following matters:

1) The allegations made by the Western Australian Branch of the British Medical Association as to the lack of confidence in the Departmental and Domestic administration of the Heathcote Mental Reception Home; and

2) Generally the Departmental and Professional administration of the Mental Hospital Branch of the Chief Secretary's Department of Western Australia.

The report of the Royal Commission was completed on 30 November 1938.
