The School Curriculum and Standards Authority is responsible to the Western Australian Minister for Education. It is administered by a board consisting of seven members appointed for their expertise in education and assessment.
Following the 2017 machinery of government changes, services and support to the Authority are provided by the School Curriculum and Standards Division staff of the Department of Education.
