History

George Throssell was mayor of the Town of Northam, 1887 - 1894, and was elected to State Parliament in 1890 as a member of the Legislative Assembly. He became Premier of Western Australia on 15 February 1901, but was unable to hold the majority in the April 1901 elections, and resigned in May, 1901.

Throssell was a commissioner for Crown Lands from March 1897.
