History
Newman Senior High School was established in 1974. The High School was part of a district high at what was to become Newman Primary School. The senior high school premises were built by Mt Newman Mining Company in 1972 (n.b. the town of Newman was established in 1971 as a result of iron ore mining at Mt Whaleback) and was taken over by the Education Department in 1974.
