History
Geraldton Greenough Road Board became a Shire in 1961. The name changed to Shire of Greenough in 1965, following a petition from the Shire. The change of name was approved by an order in Council and gazetted on 19 March 1965, p.859.
It amalgamated with the City of Geraldton in 2007 to form the City of Geraldton-Greenough.
