History

The State Training Board is a statutory body established by Part 3 of the Vocational Education and Training Act 1996. The Board is the peak industry training advisory body to the Minister for Education and Training in Western Australia. Its key focus is to ensure WA has a quality vocational education and training system that enables people to develop skills and knowledge that support and meet the needs of industry.

The Department of Training and Workforce Development provides secretariat support to the State Training Board through the Office of the State Training Board (OSTB). The OSTB is part of the Department of Training and Workforce Development.
