History

The Wheat Marketing Act was " an Act to confer certain powers on the Government of Western Australia in regard to the marketing of the wheat harvests of the season...[eg. 1917/18] and for other purposes." Under the Act the Governor appointed a committee of not more than five persons to advise the Minister upon matters relating to the administration of the Act.

The minutes of the Board are first headed State Wheat Marketing Committee, then Wheat Marketing Advisory Committee (from 5 July 1917). From 27 December 1917 the minutes are headed Wheat Marketing & Bulk Handling Advisory Board and from 25 June 1919 Wheat Marketing Advisory Board.
