Administrative history
Formerly a component of Fremantle General Free Grammar School. It was also known as one of the colonial schools (along with the Perth Boys School). The school lapsed briefly in 1851 when the lease ran out. In 1854 a new building was opened. The school became the John Curtin High School in 1956 and in 1974 the building was taken over by the Perth Institute of Film and Television.
