This series consists of the Correspondence files created and maintained by the Engineering Department of the City of Fremantle. The files were probably originally either stored or controlled by/from a central location in the Department. This system seems to have been corrupted later and towards the end individual's working papers were mixed in with the more official records. Most files were stored in oversized hanging file covers. They have were transferred to standard size folders when listed. No order was apparent and as the series grew, file covers and titles also changed. The present order has been imposed on the records.
