Administrative history
Formerly the Department of Works & Buildings, the Public Works Department expanded greatly from the beginning of the century, becoming responsible for the construction of the Goldfields Water Supply and Fremantle harbour. The Public Works Department changed its name to the Building Management Authority on 1 January 1985.

Item 1 consists of an unregistered file relating to construction work near the grave of Tommy Windich.
Item 2 consists of inward and outward correspondence relating to C.Y.O'Connor.
Item 3 consist of composite documentation used for reference purposes by PWD engineer A.M. Hutchinson during the course of his career. The documentation includes PWD specifications, engineering calculations, engineering diagrams and test results for the weight of rocks proposed for Fremantle Harbour Works.
