Administrative history

The magisterial district of West Kimberley was proclaimed in 1886 and the magisterial district of Broome was established in 1894 with corresponding adjustments to the boundaries of the West Kimberley district. In 1893 the Broome Local Court was constituted and from 1894 the Court of General Sessions was held in Broome.
