History
The East Fremantle Road Board was formed from the Fremantle Road Board on 14 December 1900. However, at its second meeting (held 22 April 1901) a letter was received from the Lands and Surveys Department suggesting a change of name to Melville Road Board. This was gazetted on 14 June 1901.
