Administrative history
In 1966 the name Sunset Home was changed to Sunset Hospital due to representation by Dr Lefroy, geriatrician for WA, to the Health Department. Along with Mt Henry it became a hospital providing restorative treatment to patients in the wards, with residents living in hostels in the grounds.
The Sunset Hospital was scheduled to close in December 1995.
