Files from the Mechanical Branch (Chief Mechanical Engineer) of the Western Australian Government Railways in its various incarnations. These correspondence files relate chiefly to repairs and maintenance of locomotive stock. The Mechanical Branch was situated at Midland Workshops and the files also relate to operational and administrative matters at the Workshops, including labour relations.
