Administrative history
The Audio Visual Aids Branch of the Education Department was formed in 1947 under the auspices of the State Advisory Committee and included the State Film Centre and the Government Film Unit. The Branch was responsible for producing audio visual teaching aids and for making audio visual material available to schools, government departments and adult film societies.
