Administrative history

Fremantle Prison was built by convict labour between 1851 and 1855, and was first occupied in 1855. The Prison was closed in 1991 when the last prisoners were transferred to the new prison at Casuarina.

Report filed by prison officers of incidents concerning prisoners. Includes name of prisoner, date of incident, which cell block, name of officer and witnesses, description of incident, recommendations by senior officer and staff, and subsequent action. Cons 4645 includes incident reports for 8 prisoners who were involved in an altercation in Two Division yard and subsequently transferred to New Division and placed in Observation. Photographs of three of the prisoners are included on this file.
