Administrative history
The Government School of Nursing was established to train student nurses. The School offered a three year course of study and practical work in general nursing. The School was affiliated with the Kalgoorlie, Geraldton and Northem District Hospitals.
The nursing course offered by the school commenced with elementary study of nursing, progressing through to practical work in tandem with further study. At the end of the training, student nurses were required to pass the Nurses Registration Board exam before becoming State qualified nurses.
The Government School of Nursing was situated at 18 Collins Street, West Perth. In 1974, it amalgamated with the Royal Perth School of Nursing.
