History
The Kanowna road district was established on 26 January 1917. On the same day the Municipality of Kanowna was abolished and that area included in the North East Coolgardie road district, the name of which was changed to the Kanowna Road Board. On 15 September 1922 the Kanowna Road Board was abolished and the area included in the Kalgoorlie road district. The Kanowna Road Board also carried out the functions of a local health authority.
