Administrative history
The Fremantle Harbour Trust was created under the Act of the same name in 1903. Certain functions of the Harbour and Light Department were transferred to the new body, particularly control of the pilotage service, signalmen and the Fremantle light keepers. A Board of Commissioners was responsible for carrying out the functions of the Harbour Trust as laid down by the Act. An Amendment Act in 1964 changed the name of the Trust to the fremantle Port Authority.
Under an amendment to the Fremantle Harbour Trust Act in 1964, the name of the Trust was changed to the Fremantle Port Authority.

Records on a daily basis the wind direction at 8am, noon, 4pm, and midnight and the 24 hours prevailing wind direction. For each month there is a dot chart of wind directions by time of readings. This shows the frequency of a particular wind direction at a given time. Includes two loose inserts titled 'Aggregate wind directions'. This is a cumulation of monthly statistics to show the frequency of wind direction over a 6 month period. They cover the period 1 December 1937 - 31 May 1938 for Fremantle and Perth.
