Administrative history

Originally a volunteer association established in 1902 to fight fires in the Leonora District. the Brigade was nominally responsible to the WA Fire Brigades Board, established in 1898. In 1909 the District Fire Brigade Act placed all Fire Brigades under the control of the Board and established that Local Governments should contribute to their upkeep.
