Administrative history
The Metropolitan Cemeteries Board was created as the result of a 1986 Government Working Party to review the management of cemeteries in the metropolitan area. The Board controls and oversees Karrakatta, Guildford and Midland Cemeteries, and Memorial Parks at Pinnaroo Valley and Rockingham. They facilitate burials, cremations and commemorations.
