Administrative history
The Melbourne Road District was constituted on 1 July 1916 (ref: Government Gazette 14 Apr 1916). A notice regarding elections for the newly created Melbourne Road Board was gazetted on 2 January 1916. The first elections were to be held on 19 August 1916 with the first meeting to be held on 26 August 1916. In 1926 the Melbourne Road Board was renamed the Wongan Ballidu Road Board.
