Administrative history
The township of Collie was formally established in 1897. In that same year, the townsfolk petitioned the Colonial Secretary the provision of police protection. An officer was stationed at Collie in July 1897 and a station was built in 1899. A new police complex was erected in Wittenoom Street and was opened on 17/11/1972.
