Administrative history
Prior to 1914, policing in the Bruce Rock area was carried out by police stationed in Quairading, about 120 kilometres in distance by road.
The first police station in Bruce Rock was a tent erected on the police reserve in 1914. Prisoners were chained in the open.
A prisoner lock up was completed on town lot 94 on 30 April 1915. The erection of a police station and quarters were completed on 11 August 1916.
