Administrative history

A police station was established in Esperance following the murder of John Moir in 1878. On 13 March 1879, Police Constable Truslove and Lance Corporal Coppin took charge of policing in a district which extended from Bremer Bay to Eucla. A new police station building opened in November 1967.
