Scope and content

This series consists of original inward correspondence received by the Hon Douglas James Shave MLA in his capacity as Minister for Tourism, which has been retained within the Minister's Office for the attention of an officer. The series is distinct from WAS 2461 which contains correspondence sent via the Minister's Office, with a copy only being kept in the Ministerial Office and not in the Department.

The correspondence deals with a wide range of topics of relevance to the portfolio of Tourism, and in many cases extensive briefing notes are attached to relevant inward correspondence.

This series also contains the returns of a petition to the Minister for Tourism opposing the building of a Tourist Railway between the settlement and Oliver Hill on Rottnest Island.
