Administrative history
Prior to 1917, the Municipality of Victoria Park acted under its own Council. The ratepayers of the Victoria Park Council decided by referendum in 1916 to amalgamate with the City of Perth. This union was effected on 1 November 1917.

Between 1897 and 1917, the Municipality of Victoria Park operated under its own Council. Following a referendum of the ratepayers of the Victoria Park Council, the Municipality of Victoria Park amalgamated with the City of Perth on 1 November 1917. The Rates Books covering the 1897-1917 period then came into the custody of the City of Perth.
