Administrative history
The Tourist and Publicity Bureau was the first official state organization to deal specifically with tourist enquiries. Prior to this, tourist related enquiries had been carried out by the State Hotels and Immigration Departments. The Bureau appears to have been commonly referred to as the Tourist Bureau.

These records comprise correspondence and minutes of the various sub-committees associated with Commonwealth Jubilee Celebrations in Western Australia to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Australian Federation in 1951.
The records came under the control of the Tourist and Publicity Bureau of the State Government of Western Australia.
