Administrative history
The Secondary Education Authority was established on 1 January 1984 under the Secondary Education Authority Act 1984. It replaced the Board of Secondary Education and also acquired functions from the Tertiary Institutions Service Centre.
On 1 August 1997 the operational and business functions of the Secondary Education Authority were assumed by the Curriculum Council.
