Scope and content

This series consists of files connected with specific issues pertaining to the portfolios of the Hon Graham John Edwards MLC. Each file contains correspondence, briefing notes, reports, research papers and other documentation relating to a particular topic that falls within the scope of one of the Minister's portfolios.

There are three distinct sequences within this series: the subject files, "obsolete" subject files and general files.

1.7 to 2.61 Police
3.1 to 5.13 Emergency Services
6.1.4.1 to 6.10.4 Sport and Recreation

The main sequence of subject files has been ordered according to a progressive numbering system. File numbers given are those assigned by the Minister's office, with files being grouped according to the Ministerial portfolio they relate to.

The second major file sequence contains obsolete subject files relating to the portfolio of Sport and Recreation. This system was the precursor to the main subject file sequence and consequently employs a similar numbering system. It should be noted however that file numbers assigned to particular subject files within the obsolete subject file sequence will differ from the file number assigned to the same topic within the main sequence.

The final sequence contained within this series comprises of those subject files which have not been assigned file numbers by the Minister's office and consequently are not included within either of the two previous filing sequences. These files relate primarily to matters connected with the portfolio of Police and are ordered according to an artificial numbering sequence imposed by the State Records Office in order to facilitate access to these records.
