Administrative history
The Municipality of Busselton was gazetted on 21 February 1871 and elections for members were held on 8 March 1871. An order-in-council gazetted on 11 May 1951 amalgamated the Busselton Municipal Council and the Sussex Road Board as the Busselton Road Board. On 7 September 1928 the Busselton Municipal Council was appointed under the provisions of the Cemeteries Act, 1897 as a Board to control and manage the Busselton Cemetery (Reserve 9298 at 4-Mile Hill).

Administrative history
The Busselton Road Board was formed on 18 May 1951 from an amalgamation of the Sussex Road Board and the Municipality of Busselton. The Busselton Road Board became the Shire of Busselton on 1 July 1961. The Busselton Road Board administered the Busselton Cemetery.

This is an artificial series created by the State Records Office to include the various types of vehicle license receipt books (office copies only) transferred by the Shire of Busselton in 1987. The State Records Office does not expect any further transfers for this series. Name of owner and make of vehicle are given with other details sometimes included such as fuel used and the name of the insurance company.
