History
The Industrial Appeals Court was established under the Industrial Relations Act of 1979 to hear appeals arising out of cases heard before the Industrial Relations Commission where one of the parties is dissatisfied with the result. The Appeals Court consists of three judges of the Supreme Court appointed to the Appeals Court. On average, about 20 matters are taken to the Appeals Court each year (out of about 2000 applications processed by the Industrial Relations Commission each year).
