Administrative history

Pursuant to Act No 91 of 1966 the Director General was appointed by the Governor to; chair the Transport Advisory Council, and make recommendations to the Minister regarding transport policy in W.A.

The office of Director General was abolished following the repeal of the 1966 Act by the State Transport Coordination Act 1981. This Act established the office of the Coordinator General of Transport.
