History
On 1 July 2003, the Department of Land Information was formed to assume the management of land titles, property valuation and land mapping from the Department of Land Administration and the Valuer General's Office (the management of Crown land and pastoral leases was passed to the Department of Planning and Infrastructure on this date).
The Titles Registry of the Department of Land Information recorded all land ownership, transactions and surveys for Western Australia.
The Valuer General's Office operated as an entity within the Department of Land Information and provided property sales and valuation data for residential and rural properties in Western Australia.
The Department was abolished in January 2007 as a result of the Land Information Authority Act 2006 which was proclaimed on 5 December 2006. The Act came into effect on 1 January 2007.
