History
The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) was reconstituted as a department in February 1987 under the terms of the Environmental Protection Act 1986. The EPA operated as a five member board with app. 140 staff members up until 1994 when the Authority was restructured and the staffing component was dismantled.
