The Hon. Peter Jones MLA was elected to Parliament as a member for Narrogin in March 1974 and became Deputy Leader of the Country Party in May 1975.
The Hon. Peter Jones MLA was appointed as Minister for Housing; Conservation and Environment; Fisheries and Wildlife in June 1975 in the Sir Charles Court Ministry. He became Minister for Education; Cultural Affairs; Recreation in March 1977 followed by appointment as Minister for Resources Development; Mines; Fuel and Energy; Industrial Development in March 1980. He held these portfolios until the Labour government under Brian Burke took office following the State election in February 1983.
