The Collie Municipal Council was gazetted on 18th January 1901, some of the functions of the Council had been carried out by Collie Coalfields Local Board of Health from 1897 to 1902. With the creation of the Council in 1901 the Collie Coalfields Local Board of Health's functions were incorporated into the Collie Municipal Council
