The Audit Department was established following a name change from the Audit Office.
The Audit Department, which became a separate department in 1911, operated until 1986 when it became the Office of the Auditor General.

Record of Service Ledgers of the Audit Department (later the Office of the Auditor-General). They record the date the employee joined the department, the branch they were assigned to, their age upon joining and their date of birth. Employee leave allowances and salary increases are noted in these journals. The journals record essentially abstracts from the employee's personnel file.
NB: the date range of each volume has been taken from the date the employee joined the Audit Department.
