History
The Western Australian Planning Commission, previously the State Planning Commission (Agency No. 55), is the statutory authority with statewide responsibilities for urban, rural and regional land use planning and land development matters. The Commission responds to the strategic direction of government and is responsible for the strategic planning of the state.
As consequence of the 2017 machinery of government changes, the Western Australian Planning Commission operates with the support of the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage and the Minister for Planning.
